برعاية مطرانية السريان الكاثوليك، أطلقت اليوم إدارة بيت السلام العام الجديد لبرامج تدريب وتأهيل الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة، وذلك في مقر المؤسسة بحي باب توما في دمشق.

وشارك في حفل الإطلاق عدد من ذوي الإعاقة والأهالي، إضافة إلى وفود دينية وشعبية، كما تضمن العرض مشغولات يدوية للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة وتوزيع الهدايا عليهم وسط أجواء دافئة عكست روح المحبة والتضامن، حيث تم التأكيد على أهمية دعم هذه الفئة وتمكينها من حقوقها في التعليم والعمل والحياة الكريمة.

أكد رئيس أساقفة السريان الكاثوليك في دمشق وتوابعها، المطران ماريوحنا جهاد بطاح، في تصريح لـ العاصمة نيوز أن بيت السلام يشكل نادياً جامعاً لجميع ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة ومن جميع الطوائف، ويهدف إلى تشغيل الشباب وتمكينهم من الانطلاق نحو المجتمع، مشيراً إلى أن الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة يجدون في هذا البيت ملاذاً آمناً وفرصة حقيقية للاندماج والعطاء.

بدورها، أوضحت مديرة بيت السلام رين معتوق أن المؤسسة تستقبل الشباب من عمر 16 عاماً فما فوق، وتعمل على تعزيز مهاراتهم المهنية والاجتماعية من خلال ورش تدريبية متنوعة تشمل الأشغال اليدوية كالتطريز وصب الشمع، بهدف دمجهم في المجتمع وتحفيزهم.

من جانبه، أشار المرشد الروحي لبيت السلام الأب سامر صائغ إلى أن البيت يسعى لمنح الإنسان المعاق وجوداً ومعنى، مؤكداً أن المشروع يهدف إلى تحقيق القيم الدينية النبيلة كالمحبة والسلام، ويعكس رسالة إنسانية عميقة تجاه أبناء الوطن الذين يعانون من ظروف صحية أو عقلية صعبة.

لفتت المدربة المهنية ربا الرمحين إلى أن البرامج المقدمة في بيت السلام تشمل التعليم المهني والتربوي، وتستهدف فئة الشباب من ذوي الإعاقة، حيث يتم تدريبهم على حرف يدوية بسيطة تمنحهم شعوراً بالإنجاز والانتماء.

وعبر عدد من الأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة عن سعادتهم بما يقدمه لهم بيت السلام من اهتمام ورعاية، مؤكدين أن المؤسسة تمثل لهم بيتاً حقيقياً للسلام والكرامة.

تأسس بيت السلام عام 1992، ويقدم خدماته بدعم من منظمات دولية وجمعيات أهلية، ويضم كوادر مؤهلة ومدربين متخصصين.

Under the patronage of the Syriac Catholic Diocese, Beit Al-Salam management launched today the new year of training and rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities, at the institution's headquarters in Bab Touma neighborhood in Damascus.

The launch ceremony was attended by several people with disabilities and their families, in addition to religious and popular delegations. The event included an exhibition of handicrafts made by people with disabilities and distribution of gifts to them amid warm atmosphere reflecting love and solidarity, emphasizing the importance of supporting this group and enabling their rights to education, work, and a dignified life.

Archbishop Mariohanna Jihad Battah, head of the Syriac Catholic Diocese in Damascus and its surroundings, told Al-Asima News that Beit Al-Salam constitutes a club for all people with special needs from all sects, aiming to employ youth and empower them to integrate into society. He pointed out that people with disabilities find in this house a safe haven and a real opportunity for integration and contribution.

Beit Al-Salam’s director, Rin Ma’touq, explained that the institution receives youth aged 16 and above and works on enhancing their professional and social skills through various training workshops including handicrafts such as embroidery and wax casting, aiming at integrating and motivating them within society.

Spiritual guide of Beit Al-Salam, Father Samer Saigh, indicated that the house seeks to grant the disabled person existence and meaning, affirming that the project aims to achieve noble religious values such as love and peace, reflecting a profound humanitarian message towards the citizens who suffer from difficult physical or mental conditions.

Professional trainer Ruba Al-Ramhain pointed out that the programs offered at Beit Al-Salam include vocational and educational training, targeting young people with disabilities, where they are trained on simple crafts that provide them with a sense of achievement and belonging.

Several people with disabilities expressed their happiness with the care and attention provided by Beit Al-Salam, affirming that the institution represents a true home of peace and dignity for them.

Beit Al-Salam was established in 1992 and provides its services with support from international organizations and local associations, staffed by qualified personnel and specialized trainers.
